Monday, blood flow in the umbilical cords looked good. The doctor was even thinking we might be able to go 2 times per week instead of three. We opted to keep our appointments as scheduled.
Wednesday, blood flow looked worse again, with high resistance in both cords and increased blood flow to both boys' brains (a sign of stress).
Thursday we saw our obstetrician for the first time since July 1. He gave us reassurance that he boys are under the best care possible.
Friday the blood flow looked better than Wednesday. The doctor said the variability could be due to many factors, including the boys' positions in the womb. She also said if they observed it long enough in a given time period, there would likely be period of better and worse flow. She checked a few other arteries and veins on the boys with the Doppler, and they all were looking normal.
I am optimistic that things will remain the same for our ultrasound on Monday. Then we will get a growth estimate on Wednesday. Hopefully the boys have grown an acceptable amount. If they have, we may be able to delay delivery past the 35 week mark as indicated by the doctor when things were looking bad a week and a half ago!
Both grandmas to be have been helping us out every other week for the last few weeks, which has been such a relief. My parents dropped by for a few hours on Saturday so my dad could repair our A/c. Dad and mike also repaired our sump pump and installed a back up sump. AND they hung a new cabinet in the kitchen to make room for baby bottles!
We used to have wine glasses on this shelf. Times have changed:)
Other than installing car seat bases in the car, we are ready for the babies.
Portable cribs in our downstairs "office."
High chairs, baby gate, stroller, carseats, ergo baby carrier, and toys in the "office."
Note: there are no office things in the office, so I guess we will call it the playroom...?
Baby swings in the playroom.
Just add babies!
Cinnamon buns made by Gran! The house smelled good that day.
Gran in our kitchen (note how clean she made it).
There were about 15 frogs, 5 different species is our window well. It is about 8 feet deep. Temps this week were 95 plus, so I guess the frogs were trying to beat the heat! I think the smaller one is a pickerel frog and the larger one is a wood frog.
